HOTMAC Meeting May 7, 2007

There were 18 members present.

The meeting started at 7pm

The April meeting minutes and financial report were read and approved.

The May Board meeting minutes were read and approved.

Larry reported that Sid Sayetta, Jim Smith and Jim Manning were all recovering from their recent surgeries.

A representative from the Sertoma club thanked members for the outstanding support of the Kite Festival and announced the probability of having another festival in May of 2008.

Larry thanked Ernie Rabe in behalf of the club for the state of the art sound system he has donated for club use. The system proved to be more than adequate at the kite festival.

An appeal for manpower to support the IMAA Rally was made. The goal is to get registrations and inspections done early in the week to avoid the weekend crunch. Manpower will be needed for registration, parking, food dispensing, inspection, impound and general support. Several individuals from other clubs have committed their support. Contact Larry Garrett if you can help.

The Board authorized Bobby Hill to supervise the building of 5 new flight station barriers to replace the aged barriers presently being used. Rodney Shelton donated 2" PVC , the club purchased the necessary fittings and Rodney assembled and delivered the new frames to the field for application of the safety fencing. Consideration will be given to weighting down the barriers with sand for stability and ease of movement for mowing.

New membership applicant G.C. Dimit and returning member Danny Knox were voted in to the club. Returning member Ron Harding did not receive a unanimous vote of the members in attendance in order to gain re-admission to the club.

Larry reminded all members of the Thunderbird Field fly-in May19th.

The meeting adjourned at 7:30pm.
