RULES

 

AIRFRAMES –

World Models Sky Raider Mach II -  Built to instructions.

World Models LA Racer – Built to instructions.

(see allowable modifications list)

 

Planes may be repaired and / or re-covered but no speed enhancing modifications are allowed (such as lightening holes, streamlining or changing landing gear)

 

Engines –

Any current production  .40 engine with a retail price of  ($120.00) or less. TT Pro .40 recommended. No specialty race engines such as Nelson or Jett are allowed.

 

Engines must be STOCK – no speed enhancements such as porting, balancing etc. is allowed. The CD or race organizer retains the right to disqualify any modified engine.

 

All engines must use the Carburetor and muffler originally supplied with the engine. Carburetor and muffler must be used STOCK – NO modifications allowed! (including removal of baffles)  Engines must demonstrate extended idle and transition. Engines must shut off on command from the transmitter. * Extended idle means the plane must stand UNASSISTED on a paved runway for up to 1 minute.

 

Engines of all winners (1st through 5th place) will be torn down and inspected for compliance. ANY MODIFICATIONS WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FOR THE ENTIRE MEET WITH NO REFUND!

 

Any commercially available propeller is allowable.

 

Fuel will be supplied by race sponsors. All fuel will be 15% nitro / 20% oil. Contestants MUST use supplied fuel.

 

SAFETY:

  1. Each clevis on a pushrod must have a safety (i.e. fuel tubing) to prevent accidental opening.
  2. If a clevis is used on each end of a push rod, only 1 may be adjustable (i.e. 1 clevis must be soldered).
  3. All servo’s on control surfaces must have 4 mounting screws.
  4. All planes must use 4 functions (Throttle, Aileron, Elevator and Rudder).
  5. All engines must be able to be shut off from the transmitter.
  6. Unsafe and / or erratic flying (i.e. flying across the dead line or over / into the pit area) may be cause for immediate disqualification.

 

 

Course – 2 pylon course with 400ft. between pylons.

 

Heats – 4 plane heats. 4 rounds. 1st place = 4 points, 4th place = 1 point.

After 4 rounds – Top 10 pilots will fly in A, B and C mains ranked by total points.
