HOTMAC Meeting Minutes Dec. 4, 2006

There were 16 members present.

 

The meeting started at 7pm.

 

The Nov business meeting and treasurer’s report and Dec Board meeting minutes were read and approved.

 

Elections were held: Pres: Larry Garrett, VP: Brad Record, Sec/Treas: C.C. Adams, Board Members: Tim Duggan, Tommy Armstrong

 

A discussion on funds carry over was held which focused on the City being able to escrow funds over and above annual operating requirements. Larry advised the next major project we are facing in the out years is the runway chip sealing and that he would seek advice from the city on how we can legally “earmark” funds for this project.

 

Currie Bishop and John Hemenway from the Sertoma Club visited and described the April Kite festival which will be held at HOTMAC field. They said they appreciated the club’s support and will stay in touch with Larry reference future requirements.

 

Don Meadows said he would get to the installation of the new RV outlets as soon as possible.

 

The club voted to support the following events for 2007:

Kite Festival: April 14th

Rally of Giants: June 20th-24th

Warbird: July 21st,22nd

Jet Rally: September  7th, 8th, 9th

Swap Meet: October 20th

Veteran’s Day Air Show: November 10th

 

The club voted to remove the original flight stations and spend up to $1000 to properly backfill the new concrete work.

 

A discussion was held on upgrading the current PVC flight station barriers. The club decided to table the issue for further discussion.

 

Larry reminded the club that the following improvements were made in 2006:

Concession stand was brought to city standards

The facility was re-keyed to provide universal access to members

A 100’x 24’ shelter was completed

New walk ways, flight stations and a taxiway were poured.

Traditionally low areas were backfilled to enhance drainage and esthetics.

Portable toilets were purchased.

Two new signs were constructed on Overflow Road

All electrical outlets were brought up to code.

 

The meeting adjourned at 8:40pm.
